bed rest...ugh

I've been enjoying these last few beautiful days...spending hours outside cleaning up the yard and paddock.  My braxton hicks contractions had been progressively getting worse as well.  Sunday night they started to seem like a little bit more than normal.  I assumed it was from my uncomfortable pants and being in the truck for so long ( I had to pick the hubby up from the airport an hour and a half away).  All week it's been progressively getting worse, and after two nights of restless sleep I finally called my midwives.  I am truly terrible about admitting when I need medical attention... and I'm now on a semi-bedrest for the next few days.  I need to make it to 36 weeks, which is Monday to keep the baby out of NICU and to be able to birth at home.  Here's to positive thinking and me working on some knitting I guess

  1. Jenny, I've been wondering how you're doing. :-) It's not long until Monday, I'm sure you'll do fine with semi-bedrest. Like you mentioned, you can get a lot of knitting done! Be sure to drink enough since dehydration can cause cx (of course you probably already knew that...) Update us when you can.

  2. Mrs. G you are most thoughtful! I'm surviving...but I have way too much energy for this! I'm finishing up the last of my projects that need to be done before this little one comes, and organizing all the tiny clothes. The snow we're getting is defiantly making it easier to stay inside. My contractions have subsided quite a bit, but they still come on when I stand for more than 10 minutes. I'm not really worried about them right now because they're very sporadic. I've been guzzling water, so hopefully these herbs will be out of my system soon! My family traditionally delivers about a month early. We're mentally prepared for an early birth, just not this early!
On another note, you can get 148 cloth wipes out of one twin flat sheet!

  3. Really? 148? Wow, who would have thought so many! I didn't know that genetically you're wired to go early, that seems grossly unfair since I always go over by up to 2 weeks. :-( Good for you though! Can't wait for the announcement!
